Manchester United have failed in their pursuit of Fredy Guarin on numerous occasions but it now appears that they will finally get their man as Inter Milan have made him available for sale.
Fredy Guarin has constantly been linked with a move away from Inter Milan to Valencia, Juventus or Manchester United since past two seasons but his potential transfer didn’t materialize in last summer transfer window. But reports coming from Italy and England have claimed today that the San Siro outfit is now ready to sale the Colombian either in January or in next summer.
The report of Daily Star confirms the desire of Inter Milan to get rid of Fredy Guarin. The Daily Star report claims that: “Inter Milan are keen to get rid of the former Porto star in order to reduce their massive wage bill. The news of the Inter’s desire to sell Guarin will be a huge boost to Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal is reportedly a huge admirer of Guarin, who joined Inter in 2012.”
Manchester United signed some quality midfielders like Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera during the summer transfer window but it is clear that Van Gaal is struggling to find the right balance. The Dutchman has asked the management of Manchester United to sign Arturo Vidal next summer but Fredy Guarin is the secondary target of Van Gaal.
Marouane Fellaini, a signing made by David Moyes in July 2013, is unsettled at Manchester United and the management could decide to sale the player in order to generate some funds for the capture of Guarin. Italian side Napoli remains interested in the services of Fellaini. Another player who could be off loaded to free some funds is Juan Mata.
The Spaniard has struggled to secure a place in the preferred starting XI of Van Gaal and he could be sold in the January transfer window. Italian champions Juventus are keeping a close watch on the situation of the player.
Manchester United have tried to sign Guarin in last two transfer windows but the move didn’t materialize for some unknown reasons. But if everything goes according to the plan, Guarin will be a Manchester United player next summer.
Inter Milan have splashed huge cash on new players like Hernanes, M’Villa and Gary Medel in past two transfer windows and now the club is under pressure to sale some of its players to reduce its wage bill as they are being closely watched by UEFA for not following the rules of Financial Fair Play.
