Manchester United are now the favourites to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid as PSG concede financial restrain due to FFP.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel Di Maria has turned down a new contract from the club and is looking to leave this summer. This has put a host a clubs on high alert – mostly PSG and Manchester United.
Both PSG and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Di Maria all throughout the summer, but according to recent reports, the Red Devils are currently leading the chase for the Argentine international.
PSG, who are under the cosh with FFP restraining their usual spending spree this summer, are unlikely to able to spend big on Di Maria. The French club have already spend a massive amount while signing David Luiz from Chelsea and will have to sell before making another big money move.
PSG manager Laurent Blanc has confirmed their interest in Di Maria, but insisted that the club will face difficulty in pursuing their interest in him.
“With large players like Di Maria, there are a lot of clubs behind him certainly.
“PSG cannot do what he wants in terms of recruitment (because of financial fair play). This is a difficult issue, the president has confirmed to me.” – The PSG manager said in an interview.
With PSG struggling with FFP, Manchester United are believed to be the favourites to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid. Louis van Gaal is keen to sign the midfielder, who he believes will be able to provide the cutting edge to the side. Ed Woodward, who earlier insisted that United have the capability to match any transfer fee if required, is also under a lot of pressure to deliver as Manchester United fans grow impatient.
The English club are reportedly lining up a massive bid for Di Maria as they look to make at least two more signings before the end of the transfer window.
