It appears that Manchester United are going to break all records of transfer window spending as the club is lining up bids for Nigel De Jong, Arturo Vidal and Daley Blind.

Manchester United are on verge of announcing the deal for Angel Di Maria and the club is not done with its spending spree yet as new manager Louis van Gaal is still not happy with his squad and strengthening the midfield is his first priority.

Reports coming from England have also confirmed the interest of Manchester United in the aforementioned trio. The Telegraph report claims that: “Manchester United are expected to pursue moves for the AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong and the Ajax defender Daley Blind once the signing of Angel di María has been secured. Arturo Vidal, the Juventus midfielder, is also a target, but the Italian champions aim to resist offers for the Chile international.”

The transfer of Angel di Maria to Manchester United remains only a formality now and considering the huge outlay Red Devils are making on the Argentina international, the club is guaranteed of breaking all the records of spending spree in the clubs’ history.

However, Louis van Gaal is not satisfied yet as he has set his eyes on Nigel de Jong, Arturo Vidal and Daley Blind. Arturo Vidal is the primary target of Van Gaal but Juventus are not ready to sale the Chile international at any cost. And as a back-up for Vidal, Van Gaal is lining up a move for AC Milan’s Nigel De Jong. De Jong was a regular starter for Netherlands under the Dutchman and Van Gaal is a big admirer of his work ethic.

However, it is not yet clear whether AC Milan are ready to part their ways with De Jong. New boss Pippo Inzaghi considers De Jong as an integral part of his squad and it will be a big surprise if San Siro side allows the Dutchman leave in this transfer window. The Telegraph report claims that Manchester United are ready to make an initial offer of £8m for the player.

The case of Arturo Vidal at Juventus is quite similar to that of De Jong. New boss Messimiliano Allegri has asked the board of directors to keep the Chilean at any cost and Beppe Moratta has stressed on numerous occasions that Vidal will remain with the Bianconeri next season.

Ajax youngster Daley Blind has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since the appointment of Van Gaal and he is a more realistic target than both De Jong and Vidal as Ajax are ready to accept any bid in the region of 22-24 million pounds.
