Manchester United have joined Arsenal in a race to sign Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler.

Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler is widely recognized as one of the most talented young midfielder of world football and host of Premier League clubs are interested in his services. Julian Draxler injured himself on Friday in Schalke’s 1-0 win against Augsburg and he is now sidelined for next couple of months but this is unlikely to fend off the interest of both Manchester United and Arsenal as they are genuinely interested signing the youngster.

Meanwhile, reports coming from England have also confirmed the entry of Manchester United in chase of Julian Draxler. The Daily Express report claims that: “Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the pursuit of emerging German midfielder Julian Draxler. But both clubs were left stunned on Friday night when the 21-year-old limped off after just 15 seconds in Schalke’s 1-0 victory over Augsburg in the Bundesliga.”

Manchester United spent more than 150 million pounds on the likes of Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Radamel Falcao, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera during the summer transfer window but it now appears that coach Louis van Gaal is still struggling to find the right balance in his midfield as the team is successful in securing just 13 points from first 9 games of the new season.

Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal has already asked the management of the club to spend more on top quality midfielder and a defender in either winter or in summer transfer window.

Sami Khedira of Real Madrid is also being linked with a move to Manchester United and Arsenal since past few months but Ancelotti has stressed it on more than one occasion that he wants the German to extend his contract at the club.

This uncertainty over the future of Khedira has forced both Manchester United and Arsenal to look elsewhere. Van Gaal wants to add more creativity and physical strength to his midfield and he believes that Julian Draxler is the perfect candidate. Draxler, 21, is already a big star in Germany and the Manchester United management thinks that he has a huge future ahead of him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is also scouting Julian Draxler since past many months and he even tried to sign this gifted youngster in the summer but baulked at the asking price of Schalke.

But Arsenal have renewed their interest in Julian Draxler now and it is promises to be a long running transfer saga as Manchester United are also ready to spend 35-37 millions for the signature of this highly talented youngster.
