Manchester United’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal received a major boost as Patrice Evra has agreed to join Juventus in a two year deal.

Arturo Vidal, Juventus mainstay in midfield is a transfer target of Real Madrid and Manchester United- two of the biggest names in club football. Both of them are in contrasting situations at the moment. Real Madrid lifted much awaited La Decima after a long wait while Manchester United finished outside Top 6 in English football and will be deprived of European football next season. So a straight battle between both the sides at this moment heavily favours Real Madrid, and ambitious players are likely to join Spanish outfit rather than the English Premier League side.

Manchester United had targeted talented young players to improve their squad under Louis Van Gaal and had already roped in Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera. The likes of Mats Hummels, Thomas Vermalean, Stefan De Vrij etc. are also targeted along with Arturo Vidal to improve the side. Among these players Thomas Vermalean and Stefan De Vrij are attainable even in this stage, considering the giant reputation of the club and the new manager. Getting one of the best players in their position like Mats Hummels and Arturo Vidal without European football might prove out to be a tricky affair.

Manchester United were keen on adding Arturo Vidal and has targeted the Chile midfielder in a £40 Million move. He was one of the best performers for Chile in FIFA 2014 World Cup. Netherlands manager Louis Van Gaal was impressed with Arturo Vidal’s performances, and made his plans to add Chile play maker to his new team.

Manchester United were in dire need of midfield additions, after some below par performances by Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverly and Mourane Fellaini. The addition of Ander Herrera was expected to solve some of the problems in the long run. Still they needed a World class player and Arturo Vidal was their answer.

Juventus needed to be convinced to let their prized asset leave and that was another tricky part faced by Manchester United. Italian Serie A winners consider him as an integral part and only a good relation between both the clubs can produce transfer deals. Latest reports have emerged that Juventus have agreed a two year deal with Manchester United left back Patrice Evra and this can be a turning point in United’s pursuit of Vidal.

With the acquisition of Luke Shaw, Manchester United has found the replacement for Patrice Evra and now they can use the French defender to get their transfer target. This deal will establish a good relation between the clubs, and Manchester United will be hoping that it will eventually help them to land Arturo Vidal.
