Manchester United and Arsenal are set to battle for the signature of Yohan Cabaye, who is struggling to get the regular playing time at Paris Saint Germain.
Yohan Cabaye moved to Paris Saint Germain in January 2014 in a deal worth £18million but he has failed to secure a place for himself in the starting XI of the French Champions. Host of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping tab on the situation of Yohan Cabaye and they are ready to battle for the signature of the player in January.
Yohan Cabaye played for Newcastle United before moving to Paris Saint Germain and it now appears that he will return to England in January 2015.
Meanwhile, reports coming from England and France have also confirmed the interest of Manchester United and Arsenal in Yohan Cabaye. The Daily Express report claims that: “Cabaye is struggling to hold down a regular place at Paris Saint-Germain following his £18million move in January of this year. However, the France international may be on his way back to England after less than 12 months. Cabaye could be made available by PSG in January as they bid to raise funds, having seen their spending curtailed this summer due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.”
Blaise Matuidi and Tiago Motta are ahead of Yohan Cabaye in the pecking order for Paris Saint Germain coach Laurent Blanc this season. The Frenchman is not happy with his status at the club as this is also proving a stumbling block in his selection for the national team and he is looking for a new club in order to get a regular playing time.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has asked the club management to sign world class midfielder in January and Yohan Cabaye is the preferred target of the Dutchman as he already possess the experience of playing in the Premier League.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly not happy with the performance levels of new signing Ander Herrera and Daley Blind and Yohan Cabaye could find it relatively easy to get the playing time at the Old Trafford club.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to beat Arsenal if they want to get Yohan Cabaye as Gunners are genuinely interested in the Paris Saint Germain midfielder.
Arsenal made two offers for Yohan Cabaye during the summer transfer window but they failed in their attempts. But Arsenal are ready to make another offer for Yohan Cabaye as the club is in desperate need of a new creative midfielder.
