Manchester City’s captain Vincent Kompany, along with striker Edin Dzeko, midfielder David Silva and defender Alexsander Kolarov, are doubtful for their clash against Swansea City. While Kolarov is doubtful with an ankle injury, Vincent Kompany and Edin Dezko are reeling from a calf injuries and David Silva is suffering from a knee injury.

Manchester City moreover already have defensive concerns, since Equalim Mangala has been in the thick of defensive frailties, while Yaya Toure’s withering form poses a much major concern.

Manchester City take on Swansea City on Saturday and would look to exorcise their demons,  as they have looked pretty off color recently. Meanwhile, Swansea City come into this fixture defeating Arsenal at home and could challenge the Citizens for three points.

Swansea’s gaffer Gary Monk believes that Manchester City has squad depth which should make up for the injuries that they have sustained. However, he insisted that City has a squad that could deal with these problems.

“The players they have to come in would get in most sides,They probably look at this as a chance to get three points, but hopefully we can put on a performance to try and get points.” he said.

“They’re a good side. It’s a tough place to go, they are an extremely good squad, defending champions. It’s a tough proposition for us but one we look forward to.

“The players relish playing them to see how far they’ve come as individuals and a group and we can see how far we have come.”

“We just focus on the next game,If you look too far ahead, you lose track of what you’re doing. We’re just looking at Man City and giving that 100 per cent commitment.

“You obviously look at the table, but my focus is on attacking every game as best we can and getting the best performance that will hopefully get us enough points to stay in the top half.

“But we’re realistic. Teams below us are very powerful financially, but we’re competing so far.”

Although Gary Monk, has been optimistic on his sides chances against Manchester City, statistics show the complete opposite. Manchester City have defeated Swansea City in all of their encounters at the Etihad Stadium, and have also defeated them on all occasions with eight goals or more, whilst conceding none.

But Swansea also have an unexpected glamorous run of form, which reached its peak when they defeated Arsenal last time around. Surprisingly, if Swansea City beat Manchester City then they would come on par at points with the Sky Blues.

While Manchester City struggle with injuries, Federico Fernandez (calf) looks set to be the only absentee for the visitors.
