Manchester City have identified Sami Khedira, as a possible replacement for Yaya Toure, according to The Daily Mail. Manchester City could offload their Yaya Toure, who has been instrumental thus far in his City career to Paris-Saint Germain and could buy Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira as his replacement.
Although Yaya Toure has flirted about leaving the club ever since his ‘birthday’ tantrum, the Ivorian’s talk of exit has surfaced vigorously recently. Surprisingly the Champions are willing to let Yaya Toure go for reasonable money, as Manuel Pellegrini looks to bolster his side’s midfield worries. Toure, who received a dip in form recently, has been under performing for Manchester City.
The Ivorian was at the thick of the action in Manchester City’s loss to CSKA Moscow in midweek, while amounting a red. Manchester City who already have a bad run of form, received a hurdle in their Premier League pursuits as they were held 2-2 by Queen Park Rangers.
Although Pellegrini has blamed Champions League for the slump in form, it is quiet easily visible that Manchester City have not been performing to their fullest, and look like a mere shadow of themselves.
To rectify this issue changes are set to be made, and the inclusion of Sami Khedira, could be perhaps a pivotal buy of Manchester City.
Sami Khedira, has been one of the star performers in a star studded Real Madrid side, the 27 year old defensive midfielder has been pivotal to the German National team as well, in recent years.
Although there can be no doubt about Sami Khedira’s class and skill, his move to Manchester City might be doubtful as Arsenal are also gunning for his signature.
The German International has not signed a new contract at Real Madrid and would be looking to move to either Manchester City or Arsenal for a cut-off price in January or a free transfer in the Summer Window.
Manchester City looks like the possible destination for Khedira, as the Champions can easily splash out big money and acquire their taste. However, if Manchester City fail to gather Khedira’s signature, Manuel Pellegrini has identified Steven Gerrard as the next in line.
Gerrard cast a shadow on his future at Liverpool as he stalls committing his future to Anfield. The 34 year old is perhaps looking for greener pastures but a move to Manchester City looks highly unlikely.
Steven Gerrard like Yaya Toure has received a slump in form and with the new Manchester City being built around young talents, move for a 34 year old looks highly unlikely.
With Manchester City reeling at third a change is certainly needed and it looks more than likely that Sami Khedira could be heading this change. Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers and would be looking to regain their form as they take on Swansea City after the International break.
