Liverpool are planning their moves ahead of the January transfer window as they look to strengthen their frontline.
Liverpool are expected to begin their January transfer window with the temporary capture of Arsenal starlet Joel Campbell. Brendan Rodgers is expected to make a move for the forward on loan to strengthen his attack and talks between the two parties are expected soon. Also linked with a move to Liverpool is Palermo’s Paulo Dybala who has been in sparkling form this season in Italy. Teenage sensation Martin Odegaard who has been pursued by many big clubs including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund visited Reds training facility at Melwood today with his father. Liverpool have not reached any agreement with the Norwegian international but remain interested in signing him before other clubs do.
Brendan Rodgers is keen to reinvigorate his front-line with a temporary loan deal of Arsenal outcast Joel Campbell. Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are also interested in his services but reports suggest the Liverpool manager is a huge admirer of the Costa Rican international and is willing to work with him. Campbell has struggled to get any game-time despite injury to Olivier Giroud with Danny Welbeck blocking his path to the first-team. The 22-year-old was a huge success story for his country at the World Cup as he led Costa Rica to the quarterfinals in Brazil. Campbell was linked with a move to AC Milan in summer but decided to stay and fight for his place. His lack of involvement so far must have been frustrating for him and now he is starting to doubt his decision to stay under Wenger’s wing. Liverpool are willing to offer him the chance of getting some regular action and talks between the two clubs are expected to commence very soon.
Liverpool are the recent club said to be interested in signing Palermo’s Paulo Dybala. The Argentine ‘talento’ has attracted interest from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid but according to reports in Italian press Liverpool have joined the race for his signature. It will be a difficult task to negotiate with Palermo’s maverick President who recently claimed, “No-one has met with me about Paulo Dybala,”
“€42m? Maybe I’ll say no… €42m might not be enough. Let’s see if that moves PSG [Paris Saint-Germain].Dybala at the moment is worth too much even for De Laurentiis’ Napoli. His price tag is between €42m and €50m.”
“I think he’ll stay one more year with us if he listens to my advice. We’re talking about renewing his contract, he’s a very smart guy. When he first came [to Palermo] he was with his agents but he wanted to read every word of the contract.”
Martin Odegaard’s potential move to Liverpool is back on after the club officials gave him a tour of Anfield, Melwood and the city centre yesterday. Reports in Daily Mail confirm that Stromsgodset starlet was accompanied by his father during this visit and Liverpool are making their moves to sign the Norwegian starlet.
