Chelsea FC striker Loic Remy has insisted that Liverpool FC were dishonest when his move to Anfield broke down due to failed medical.

Loic Remy was close to signing for Liverpool this summer, before the Reds signed Mario Balotelli. The French international’s move to Anfield broke down in the final stage due to a failed medical according to reports. Remy went on to sign for Chelsea before the end of the transfer window and the former QPR forward has insisted that Liverpool weren’t honest when they decided to pull the plug on the deal.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp also brought similar allegations against Liverpool in the aftermath. The former Tottenham Hotspur coach was adamant that medical problem was not the reason behind the deal failing to materialize.

Liverpool signed Mario Balotelli instead and the former Marseille striker went on to join Chelsea as the London club looked for Fernando Torres’ replacement after the Spaniard signed for AC Milan. Remy, who could make his debut at the weekend with questions being raised about the fitness of Diego Costa, insists that he failed to understand Liverpool’s decision and believes the Reds were not honest with him during the whole transfer saga.

“I did not understand Liverpool’s decision. It was not very honest from their side,

“I was not scared. I know exactly what I have, I met all the specialists in the world. A lot of players share the same situation as mine and Liverpool know it.” – The Chelsea striker said.

The 27-year-old striker will compete with Diego Costa and Didier Drogba for a place in the starting line-up. Costa will be Jose Mourinho’s first choice striker, but with the Atletico Madrid forward struggling with his fitness, Remy could make his debut when Chelsea host Swansea City this weekend.
