Liverpool FC are lining up a move for FC Barcelona full-back Adriano, according to reports.
Liverpool is doing exceedingly well in the Premier League but manager Brendan Rodgers must be well aware of the problems of his side. Defence is the department which has troubled the English team in this edition and the club will look to remedy that, come the summer.
The Premier League side has undergone a substantial full back dilemma this season. Glen Johnson suffered from considerable time on the benches and has not done well when he has represented the side, at least not as well as he is capable of or he used to initially. Jose Enrique has spent almost the entirety of the season injured. Valencia loanee Aly Cissokho failed to justify the hype and excitement around him when he was brought in but has improved over the last few games. Young Jon Flanagan, a Liverpool academy product, is the only player who has utilized his chances and done impressively well. All in all, Rodgers would be keen to fix this aspect of the side as he looks to make the Reds’ compete on the larger level next season with Champions League almost in the bag.
It looks like Brendan Rodgers is targeting Adriano to solve what can be labelled as Liverpoolai??i??s shortcoming this season. The Brazilian plays primarily as a left back, but can play on either sides and also as a central defender. He has started The 29 year old Adriano joined BarAi??a in 2010, after playing for six seasons at Sevilla. Adriano has not been a regular for the Spanish giants this season under Tata Martino. It is believed that the Merseyside club would be able to rope in the services of the left back for a sum in the region of A?6m.

Brendan Rodgers knows that the back-line is Liverpoolai??i??s main weakness and knows the importance of rectifying it for next season. Targeting the Brazilian veteran would be a good move. Adriano has the right sort of credentials, and more importantly the experience of living up to a potential move to Liverpool. He is spending more time on the sidelines than he would want and would be tempted with a switch to a team that could offer him more. With Liverpool doing well recently, the 29 year old would also want to be part of an exciting challenge of getting the club silverware. Martino has replacements within the ranks and thus would not rue the Brazilianai??i??s loss so much. If A?6m is all that is needed to bring in the quality of a player like Adriano, Brendan Rodgers would surely take it. And as mentioned, the transfer seems to benefit everyone and therefore is one we might see this summer.
