Italian champions Juventus are still looking for a quality attacker and they are planning a raid on Manchester United for Juan Mata.

Juventus were interested in signing Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco in the summer transfer window but they lost the battle to Manchester United and now they have set their eyes on Spaniard Juan Mata.

Reports coming from both Italy and England have confirmed the interest of Juventus in ex-Valencia and Chelsea player. Italian sports daily Tuttosport claims that: “Juventus are eager to bring Spaniard Mata to Turin during the winter transfer window. The Old Lady will submit a loan bid, which could succeed with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal facing the difficult task of fitting Mata into a side containing Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney.”

Manchester United broke all records of summer spending by bringing in the likes of Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao during the transfer window.

Manchester United only recently signed Juan Mata from Chelsea but the winger has failed to impress at Old Trafford so far and he is expected to lose his starting birth to any of these new arrivals in coming days.

The Old Trafford club parted its ways from the likes of Danny Welbeck, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Javier Hernandez during the transfer window but barring the sale of Welbeck, it did not receive any substantial amount from the sale of any other player and the management is in desperate need to sale some of its unwanted players to balance its books.

Juventus signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window but coach Messimiliano Allegri is not satisfied yet. Allegri had asked Beppe Moratta to go for Radamel Falcao on the deadline day but the club failed in its chase of the Colombian and he signed for Manchester United instead.

Juventus management is reportedly not happy with the performance levels of Fernando Llorente and they might decide to cash in on the player to get some money for Juan Mata.

However, it is expected that the Old Lady will make an initial offer of one year loan for Mata, with an option of buying at the end. Manchester United are also likely to accept the offer of Juventus as they would definitely not want to sale him to one of their Premier League rivals.
