Italian champions Juventus has made a contact with FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich for the transfers of Martin Montoya and Xherdan Shaqiri respectively and the Old Lady is confident of signing both the players next month.
Juventus boss Max Allegri has already confirmed that he is keen to sign some players in order to strengthen his squad and Xherdan Shaqiri and Martin Montoya are on top of his wish list.
Martin Montoya is currently struggling to get a regular play time at FC Barcelona as he is behind Dani Alves in the pecking order at the Catalan club. Barca’s coach Luis Enrique has already told Martin Montoya that he has no future in the club and as a result, the player is looking for a move to another club. Martin Montoya himself made it clear on numerous occasions that he wants to leave the Catalan capital to get a regular play time.
Max Allegri has asked Juventus management to sign a quality right back next month and Martin Montoya of FC Barcelona is preferred by both, the coach and the Sporting Director Pavel Nedved.
Juventus are aware of current situation of Martin Montoya at Barca and they have already made a contact with the player over a possible transfer in January. And it is being reported that Martin Montoya has also agreed to move to Juventus.
Meanwhile reports coming from Italy and Spain have also confirmed the progress made by Juventus in chase of Martin Montoya. Italian newspaper Sport Mediaset has claimed today that Martin Montoya has given an affirmative answer to the Italian club who has offered him a four year contract, although a loan move hasn’t been ruled out. Juventus are in favour of a loan deal initially, but Barça is pushing for a firm sale of the player.
Juventus has also made a good progress in its chase of Bayern winger Xherdan Shaqiri as Max Allegri himself intimated about a move for new trequartista next month.
Speaking about signing Xherdan Shaqiri next month, Max Allegri said yesterday that: “Who would I sign for January? Well, a trequartista wouldn’t go amiss in this squad…” Allegri told Tuttosport.
Like Martin Montoya at Barca, Xherdan Shaqiri is also struggling for a play time at Bayern Munich and he is keen on a move to Italian champions Juventus.
Juventus has qualified for the next round of Champions League while it is sitting at the top of Serie A table and coach Max Allegri wants to strengthen his squad in order to remain equally competitive in both the competitions.
