It has been reported that the Nerazzurri sporting director, Piero Ausilio used last week’s trip to London – where talks for Nemanja Vidic were reportedly tied up and negotiations with Patrice Evra and Bacary Sagna begun – to pick up further information on Podolski.
Podolski has a contract with Arsenal till June 2016 but it has been reported on several accounts that the German international is looking to move away from England and wants a change in the environment.
While the addition of the talented player would benefit Inter next season, they already face a setback in the form of Arsenal offering him Champions League football next season and the fact that he has a high salary presenly. However, Inter have time to amend the former as they sit in fifth place, only four points behind fourth placed Fiorentina.
Inter join chase for Firmino
Hoffenheim midfielder Firmino is part of numerous speculations. It was reported recently that Liverpool were looking to add the midfielder to their ranks in the summer. The Reds are believed to be preparing a bid for the Brazilian and it is reported that the German club will not take anything lesser than around £12 million for the highly rated 22-year-old. It has been added now that Liverpool will face competition from the likes of Zenit St Petersburg and Inter Milan, with Inter meant to be the more serious competitor for his signature.

Inter technical director Piero Ausilio, who is also tracking Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, said:
“We are following players that can be functional to our needs. I will see in a few weeks.”
Firmino started his career at Brazilian club Figueirense before moving to Hoffenheim in 2011.
The 22-year-old is a typical Brazilian attacking player. Matched with sublime skill and fantastic dribbling is his eye for goal and his ability to pick the perfect pass. He is said to be extraordinarily gifted in the attacking third and is a good finisher judging by his figures of having notched up 12 goals in the Bundesliga this season, coupled with 9 assists, according to Transfermarkt. The finishing is where the player edges out Philippe Coutinho, someone he is likened to. He runs a lot on the pitch and has an incredible work ethic.
Inter would benefit immensely from this purchase as they would look to have a brighter next season and return back to be counted among the most threatening clubs in the country and continent.
