FC Goa take on Atletico de Kolkata in the second semi-finals scheduled to be kicked off today at 19:00 IST. While Atletico de Kolkata would have their own plans to thwart Zico’s advances, FC Goa would be running high on their current form and morale. The Zico masterminded side has already targeted the finals spot and would do anything to be in it. FC Goa’s marquee player, Robert Pires hailed FC Goa’s amazing journey and believes that the Goans would go through against Atletico de Kolkata.
““We started our journey with difficulties, the road has been long and tough, but here we are now in the semifinals, and we are happy about it and confident to put up a good show,But we are not over-confident. We know it will be a very different and difficult match tomorrow, and we are prepared for it.” ” said Pires.
Robert Pires was one of three members, alongside Atletico de Kolkata’s Fikru and coach Antonio Habas, to be suspended following a scuffle which broke out at the halfway point of the match, when FC Goa entertained Atletico de Kolkata at the Fatorda Stadium.
““I don’t like the word ‘revenge’. Whatever happened in the last match is a matter of past. For our team, the focus is to reach the final in Mumbai.” added Pires.
Zico meanwhile, pressed on the importance of form in the Indian Super League and said that they 4-1 win against Delhi Dynamos, served as an inspiration to the team.
““The 4-1 win against Delhi Dynamos gave us lots of confidence, power and strength, but of course, it happened because our players worked very hard. We practiced a lot, and this is the fruit of our work,”
