A toothless NorthEast United succumbed to their second defeat in the Super League, against FC Pune City. NorthEast United’s attack fluttered as the Pune defense held strong. Coach Ricki Herbert was quick to give credit to the other team.
“We were not good on the day, and that’s what matters,” said Ricki Herbert
“The keeper kept us in the game. It would have been a different story without him,” he added.
Meanwhile, South Korean Do concluded differently, “We got a lot of opportunities to score, so we’re really upset but Pune played really well and were the better team,”, he said while taking to ISL Media Team
“I would say thank you to the fans for coming so far, I really tried my best,I wanted to give them a good result but this is football so it happens sometimes.” he added.
With this loss, NorthEast United still are in the semi-finals berth, but Do has different things in mind.
“We do not want to be just in the top four, we want to be on the top of the table.” he concluded.
NorthEast United face resolute Chennaiyin FC next, in a trip away from home.
