After a striking performance against FC Goa, FC Pune City succumbed to yet another loss against Kerala Blasters. A fantastic David Trezeguet volley opened the scoring charts for the hosts, but the visitors came from a goal down to steal all three points.
FC Pune City’s coach Franco Colomba rued errors which led to the fluttering of the team. “We made many crucial mistakes,” Colomba bemoaned, before going on to add, “Kerala played really well and it was very difficult to break them down.”, while talking to the ISL Media Team
Meanwhile FC Pune City’s John Goossens said, “We were leading 1-0 in the first half and I think five minutes before the break we had a stupid moment from the free kick; they were really good on the counter and they scored the equaliser from the corner. That was a very disappointing moment.”
FC Pune City have failed to build on their momentum and now struggle with four points on their league board.
“It’s very difficult, because it’s a very unpredictable league. When you win one match, it becomes very important to win the next one as well,” pointed Coach Franco Colomba
“It’s not easy to build a team without balance. We have senior European players and young Indian players, so it’s difficult to maintain balance. But it can be resolved in the future,” Colomba said.
FC Pune City face a high flying NorthEast United next, at home and it remains to be seen how the team copes after this loss.
