The Hard Tackle understands that Salman Khan co-owned FC Pune City are closing in to sign, perhaps one of the most prolific strikers the I-league has ever witnessed, Dudu Omagbemi. The Hard Tackle believes that the deal could be made official in less than 24hours.

Dudu started his career in India in 2001. When playing in the Indian Football League he had many great successes with Sporting Clube de Goa even becoming the league’s top goalscorer. He scored 73 goals in 89 appearances for Sporting.

During his time in India he was involved in a scandal when he signed a contract with two different clubs simultaneously; one with SC Goa and another one with Mahindra United. The issue was later settled between the two clubs. He also had few other disputes with SC Goa later on concerning similar incidents.

The charismatic football player rejected the 2008 Olympic call-up to put his career back on track and on 5 August 2008 he joined the 3 time Hungarian champion Debreceni VSC. Dudu has also played in the Europe’s elite competition, the Champions League.

After spells in Hungary and Finland, Dudu returned to Indian Giants, East Bengal. His 8 goals in 6 games for the Red and Gold, justifying his abilities.

Meanwhile, FC Pune City who have only marquee player David Trezeguet as a recognisable face, in the striking department will add another talent in their ranks, in form of Dudu.

Dudu will not only provide squad depth, but also provide tactical flexibilities to the Franco Colomba side. With the inclusion of Dudu, Pune City could very well lineup in a 3-5-2 setup, Trezeguet alongside Dudu.
