22 year old winger Romeo Fernandes, who plies his trade for FC Goa, is expected to join Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense on a one year loan deal, TheHardTackle reports. Sources close to TheHardTackle tell that, the robust winger has captivated Zico with his impressive performances and Zico is the man behind this deal. Fernandes, is expected to join the Brazilian outfit after the conclusion of Indian Super League and will play with the Under-23 squad.

Romeo Fernandes has been one of the standout performers in a FC Goa side highlighted by the legendary Brazilian, Zico and former Arsenal legend Robert Pires. Fernandes, has been a part of Dempo in the I-League and was consequently merged into FC Goa following the arrival of the Super League. The sprightly winger can play on both flanks and his ball distribution skills and passing ability are rated highly by the Dempo coaches. He has represented India at u-22 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and scored on debut against the UAE in a 1-1 draw in 2012. Romeo has also scored 2 goals in 2 appearances for India under-23 squad.

Playing for FC Goa, Romeo Fernandes has bagged eight appearances, while scoring twice, assisting twice and registering a mammoth eight shots on goal. The dynamic winger is often a fan favorite within the Goan community and has been dubbed the next big thing in Indian football.
