A dominant Delhi Dynamos side, thrashed unbeaten Chennaiyin FC 4-1, as the hosts applied pressure on the visitors from the first minute itself, scoring the fastest goal in Super League history in the process.
“Yes, we tired that on the training ground, but it never happened” joked goalscorer Wim Raymaekers, in the post match press conference
Delhi also amounted their first win of the season, and have uplifted themselves to Five points.
“I think we had a really good start, everybody was really confident and the goal from Wim Raymaekers was superb and it lifted us.” said Mads Junker, another name of Delhi’s scoresheet
“It felt really nice and it was important because going 2-0 up at half-time is a very commanding position to be in. It felt really good and I wish I could score more often.” he commented on his first goal in the Super League, while talking to the ISL Media Team.
Coach Harm van Veldhoven, gave Steven Dias his first home start, as ‘The David Beckham of India’ justified his inclusion, with a superb performance.
“Francis, was coming in on the ball and we have many players who can come in with the ball. I saw Steven on the wing, and we needed that against Chennai.” justified coach Harm van Veldhoven
Gustavo dos Santos, is another player who captivated the Delhi Audience with his solo goal. However, the Super Sub has still not been considered for the starting lineup.
“We need to keep in mind the 5 Indian Players. Dos Santos, is a good player but sometimes you need to learn to play in an organisation and with time it will come” explained van Veldhoven
