A resolute FC Pune City side entertain resurgent Delhi Dynamos in Match 50 of the Hero Indian Super League. Both, FC Pune City and Delhi Dynamos, would be looking for a win – hence cementing their positions in the coveted semi final berths. Team News and Tactical Brief:

FC Pune City

There can be doubt that FC Pune City’s strongest link is their midfield. Patrolled by Euro 2004 Winner Kostas Katsouranis and Lenny Rodriguez, Pune’s midfield is arguably a prime reason for the resurgence. Amounting sixteen points, FC Pune City would look to grab another set of three points by force and elate themselves to nineteen.

Dropping David Trezeguet has been a blessing in disguise for the Hritik Roshan co-owned side as Dudu, a veteran of I-League, has successfully converted Pune’s goal scoring opportunities – which was a problem with Trezeguet. Although Mehrajuddin Wadoo has been deployed as a Left Back in Pune’s recent endeavors, Wadoo has been a consistent performer for the Franco Colomba side. Operating Wadoo, a traditional midfielder at left back also given Colomba to revert  to a three men defense and play Wadoo in midfield, when in need of goal.

Jermaine Pennant has been inspirational is his performances so far for FC Pune City. The former Liverpool and Arsenal winger provides support and help the team by playing as a creative player.

Probable Starting Lineup (4-2-3-1): Arindam, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Bruno Cirillo, Ravanan, Pritam Kotal, Kostas Katsouranis, Lenny Rodriguez, Vadcoz, Jermaine Pennant, Park, Dudu

Delhi Dynamos

Undefeated in three matches – collecting seven points out of a possible nine, has certainly rejuvenated Delhi’s ailing spirits. The Change of tactics by coach Harm van Veldhoven has certainly worked for the Delhi contingent. His decision to drop legendary Italian and marquee player Alessandro del Piero, whilst replacing him with Francis Fernandes, was a gamble which has reaped points for the Dynamos.

Driven by the agility, trickery and pace of Gustavo dos Santos, Delhi Dynamos feature a flamboyant attacking trio, powered by the midfield pairing of Hans Mulder and Dinis. Mulder, has been Delhi’s standout performer and his ability to pick a pass – be it 4 yards or 40, has benefited Mads Junker and the pacey Francis Fernandes.

Stijen Houben has filled in the boots of injured Wim Rayaemakers and has struck a mental bond with Anwar Ali. The two Shouviks, have also plied their played to perfection and the Shouvik in defense often acts as Delhi’s stalwart.

Probable Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Van Hout, Adil Khan, Anwar Ali, Stijen Houben, Shouvik, dos Santos, Dinis, Hans Mulder, Souvik C, Mads Junker, Francis Fernandes
