It seems that FC Barcelona have got a major breakthrough in their chase of Juan Cuadrado as Fiorentina boss Vicenzo Montella has left the Colombian out of the Viola squad to face Real Madrid at the weekend.
Juan Cuadrado has been constantly linked with a move away from Fiorentina throughout the summer, with the likes of FC Barcelona and Manchester United touted as his most likely destinations.
Reports coming from Spain had claimed yesterday that FC Barcelona are set to make a final “leave it or take it” offer for the player and this move from the management of Fiorentina has come as big surprise to the observers.
FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is a big admirer of Juan Cuadrado’s talent and he has asked the club management to sign the player during this transfer window. However, the Catalans have struggled to meet the asking price of Fiorentina so far. However, Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle had confirmed on last Friday that Cuadrado can leave the club if suitable offer comes.
Della Valle had claimed earlier that: “I met with Juan (Cuadrado) today, and he asked me if he could leave. I asked him, ”Stay one more year”, but I’m not optimistic. Faced with an important offer, the boy wants to leave. We’ll give ourselves time until the end of August, but even without him we’ll be ultra-competitive.”
Meanwhile, English Premier League side Manchester United is also interested in the services of Juan Cuadrado. But reportedly, the player himself is interested in a move to FC Barcelona only. FC Barcelona management is expected to make a final offer of 40 million euros for the player today and considering the current situation, it appears most likely that the Viola president Della Valle will accept the offer.
Deulofeu Joins Sevilla On Loan From FC Barcelona
Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu spent last year on loan with Everton and it appears that he has failed to impress coach Luis Enrique as he has been loaned out to Sevilla for this season.
Deulefeu made 25 appearances for Everton last year, scoring 3 goals in the process and returned to FC Barcelona this summer in order to win more first team opportunities. However, it appears that coach Luis Enriaue wants the player to get more experience.
And Sevilla confirmed on their official website that the loan was agreed. “FC Barcelona and Sevilla FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gerard Deulofeu to the Andalusian club for the 2014-15 season,” the statement read.
