FC Barcelona seems to have recovered from the setback which they received against Real Madrid but they failed to win convincingly against Valencia on last weekend. However, the Blaugrana are overwhelming favorites to win this encounter against Segunda 2B [Spain’s regionalised third tier of football] division side Huesca.
Meanwhile, Huesca have surprised everybody with their exciting displays this season as they sit at the second spot of third division and coach Luis Garcia Tevenet will be hoping for another sensational performance from his inexperienced players tonight.
Team News and Tactical Brief :
Huesca did not play against Fuenlabrada at their home ground on this weekend as the pitch watch too bad to play because of the bad weather. However, there would not be any such problems tonight as the weather is perfectly fine now and the condition of the pitch is also looks improved.
Huesca have performed extremely well this season as they sit at the second spot of third division and prior to this game they have won their last four matches. Coach Luis Garcia Tevenet has done a great job with his relatively younger side and he will be hoping for a similar fearless performance from his players against FC Barcelona.
Two key midfielders of Huesca, Jose Gaspar and Manolin, are out with injury for this all important game which has made the task of this Segunda 2B division side tougher. However, FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has also made it clear that he will give his fringe players a chance in this game and this has made a job ahead of coach Luis Garcia Tevenet little easier.
Probable Starting XI: Jimenez; Aythami, David, Scardina, Morillas; Bernal, Ros; Josan, Juanjo, Gassama; Marti
FC Barcelona begin their Copa del Rey campaign tonight with a trip Huesca, who play in the third tier of the league. The Catalans are looking in good form at the moment as they are on a winning streak of 5 games and Huesca are not expected to cause much trouble for them in this round of 32 tie.
FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is certain to alter his regular starting XI for easy looking game against Huesca and the likes of Martin Montoya, Marc Bartra, Rafinha Alcanta and Munir are expected to get the opportunity tonight. Luis Enrique has already announced that he will be giving Claudio Bravo, Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Javier Mascherano, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr and Luis Suárez a rest for this game.
With Mascherano, Alves, Pique and Alba already out of this clash, Montoya, Bartra, Ie and Adriano will form the backline of FC Barcelona. The midfield of FC Barcelona has looked out of its depth on many occasions this season and Rafinha, Samper and Sergi Roberto would be hoping to impress the coach Luis Enrique today.
The trio of Messi, Suarez and Neymar has formed a great partnership amongst themselves now but for the first time this season, FC Barcelona will be without any member of their world class attackers. But this will be a good chance for Pedro to regain his confidence back while youngster Munir El Haddadi will also be keen to impress the coaching staff of the club. Sandro, another La Masia graduate, will partner Pedro and Munir in the attack for FC Barcelona.
Although he admitted in his press conference that his team are clear favourites in the two legged tie, FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique made it clear that Huesca, who are challenging for promotion, are not to be taken too lightly.
Luis Enrique said: “Huesca will be very motivated to take on FC Barcelona and for that reason we have to be at our most intense.
“They were top of their group in the Segunda B until last week, Tevenet is their coach and his team have shown in the league that they can take the initiative in games.”
Luis Enrique also said that the game against Huesca is a good chance for the youngsters to prove themselves. “It is a good chance to see players who have not played that much. If we went by training sessions then all the players would be in the starting 11.”
“People in the street seem to have confidence in me and encourage me,” Said Luis Enrique. “In the five years that I have coached before coming here to Barça, I have shown my way of doing things and here I remain loyal to my principles.”
Probable Starting XI: Ter Stegen; Montoya, Bartra, Ie, Adriano; Samper, Rafinha, Roberto; Pedro, Sandro, Munir
Player To Watch Out For
Young Munir started the first seven games of this season for FC Barcelona but lost his place to Luis Suarez when the later came back from his 4 month long ban. Munir, however, has impressed with his skillful displays so far but lack of opportunities have put the future of the player under doubt as the likes of Arsenal and West Ham have been linked with a move for Spain international. This game would be a perfect opportunity for Munir to show his true worth to FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.
Huesca 0-3 FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is going to make wholesome changes in his starting XI for this game but, still, Huesca are not expected to give much trouble to the Catalan giants in this Copa Del Rey tie.
