FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez returns from his 4 month ban next week and he has said that he is 100% fit to make a debut against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.
Luis Suarez was banned for 4 months by Fifa for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup game against Italy and it is scheduled to end in the next week. FC Barcelona play against Real Madrid on next weekend and the Uruguayan striker is expected to make his competitive debut against the Los Blancos.
And when asked about a chance to make his debut against arch rivals Real Madrid, Suarez said that: “Every player who starts needs to be ready. To make my debut with FC Barcelona at the Bernabéu would be very special. What I want is to enjoy playing for Barça and do what’s within my realm of possibilities.” Suarez was speaking in a press conference after receiving the Golden Boot award from Kenny Dalglish in Madrid.
The FC Barcelona striker also said that he feels 100% fit now and that he is eager to play. “If you’d asked me a week ago I’d have said not. Physically, I feel good, better than I would have expected. Today, I can say, I’m 100% fit. At the beginning I suffered but now after getting involved in training, I’m happy.”
Luis Suarez scored 31 goals for Liverpool last season and along with Cristiano Ronaldo, he is the joint winner of Golden Boot award. Suarez was presented with this award by Kenny Dalglish yesterday and the player said that he is extremely happy to receive this honour. Suarez also said that he is now eager to make a competitive debut for FC Barcelona.
“There is now little time to go before I can play again and it’s an honour to share this award with important players. Debuting will be great but I need to keep reminding myself that there are just a few days left to go. I’d like to thank my colleagues for being here tonight and am looking forward to a great period; it’s a dream for me being at Barça”.
“It’s my view that adaptation doesn’t exist but performing well on the pitch and enjoying football do. Now I’m with a club that I always wanted to be at. I need to do what the coach says. To achieve titles and important things is what I want”.
