FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to lock horns for the signature of exciting young talent Marco Asensio.
Mallorca’s Marco Asensio has caught the attentions of La Liga’s biggest clubs by his skillful displays this season and he now is considered as one of the most promising youngster of Spanish football. The 18 year old first attracted the interest of Villareal and FC Barcelona last year. Now, Real Madrid have also joined the race to sign the player as they have received the positive feedback about Marco Asensio from their scouts.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the interest of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Marco Asensio. Spanish daily Marca claims in its report that: “The sharks keep circling around Mallorca starlet Marco Asensio. Real Madrid and Villarreal look to have jumped ahead in the queue to sign one of the most highly rated prospects in Spain, a player FC Barcelona previously offered 2 million euros for.”
Marco Asensio has become an undisputed starter for Mallorca at the tender age of 18 this season and his parent club is also aware of this huge potential of the player.
FC Barcelona was the first club to notice the talent of Marco Asensio as they made an offer worth 2 million euros for the player in summer transfer window. But this offer was rejected by Mallorca as the club authorities believed that more value could be generated if they hold onto him for another year.
FC Barcelona want to sign young and promising winger as the future of Pedro Rodriguez remains uncertain. The Catalans have scouted Marco Asensio on many occasions in the past and they believe that the youngster is a star of the future.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are the latest entrants in the chase of Marco Asensio. It is being reported that Real Madrid are ready to offer 4 million euros to Mallorca for the signature of Marco Asensio and they are also ready to send him back to his parent club for loan period of six months.
Mallorca management has given the permission to Horacio Gaggioli, the agent of Marco Asensio, to start meeting the potential suitors in January 2015. However, the player himself is not ready to move anywhere until the end of this season. But the interest of both, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, is also genuine and they are ready to make a move in the winter transfer window itself.
