Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure and his agent has revealed that the player is ready to leave Etihad Stadium but former employers FC Barcelona are not willing to re-sign their former star.

The Telegraph has reported today that Yaya Touré could be forced to seek a move to France to secure a transfer from Manchester City with Barcelona ruling out the prospect of re-signing the midfielder.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were touted as the possible destinations for the Ivory Cost player but now, the Catalans seem to have unfolded their interest in the player.

Earlier, the agent of  Toure had claimed that his client will seek a move away from Manchester City over a “disrespect shown” by City management. He said: “Yaya is so upset, he is thinking of leaving City,” Seluk said. “There are a number of things that have happened that have left Yaya feeling bitterly upset. City have treated him with disrespect and have really hurt him.

“What happened at his birthday meant the club don’t care about him. It was proof. They can say whatever they want, ‘Oh we like him, but we forgot.’ None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It’s really sick.

“The club’s owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season, but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday. It shows they don’t care about him. They don’t know that money can’t buy relationships – no Sheikh can buy a relationship.”

But Toure himself came forward via Twitter to deny the rumour. “Thanks for all the birthday messages today. Card from City just arrived… Must have got lost in the post. Haha. Jokes aside. Please do not take words that do not come out of MY mouth seriously. Judge my commitment to @MCFC by my performances.”

But within an hour after this tweet, Toure changed his statement. “Everything dimitry said is true,” Touré tweeted. “He speaks for me. I will give an interview after world cup to explain.”

Now, The Telegraph reports that the player is almost guaranteed of leaving the Etihad Stadium now but Camp Nou would not be his future destination. The player’s agent himself has said last week that Barcelona could be his employers but the club is not ready to splash so much cash on the 31 year old player.

Telegraph reports that Barcelona are of course planning a complete overhaul of their squad this summer but Toure does not fit well into their plans. Their arch rivals Real Madrid are also not interested in his services as they are vying for the capture of world class striker i.e. Luis Suarez.

Now, the only possible destination for Toure is France.
