Real Madrid has apparently taken the lead over FC Barcelona in chase of Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.

Marco Reus is in the footballing shop window nowadays as he is certain to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2015. Almost all of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea are vying for the signature of this super talented German attacker.

However, of all the aforementioned potential suitors, the real fight is only between Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich. And it now appears that Real Madrid have taken the lead over the later two in chase of Marco Reus as the Los Blancos’ representative have already had a meeting with the agent of the player in Dortmund last week.

FC Barcelona are currently banned from dealing in the transfer market by FIFA for their questionable practices in the signing of young players and they cannot do anything now but to wait for the final hearing of this matter. Real Madrid have taken this opportunity to steal the march over their eternal rivals by conducting a meeting with the representatives of the player and it is being reported that they are now the clear frontrunners for the signature of Marco Reus.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and Germany have also confirmed the news that Marco Reus is ready to dump FC Barcelona for Real Madrid.

Pro-Madrid Spanish daily Marca has claimed in its report today that, the tough time Borussia Dortmund are having right now means they will almost certainly be waving goodbye to the Germany international. Real Madrid are already manoeuvring, with a meeting with the player’s agent in Germany scheduled. At the Bernabéu they fancy their chances of sealing his signing after their most recent talks, something which Barcelona and their president Josep Maria Bartomeu have had to watch from the sidelines due to their FIFA transfer ban.

FC Barcelona wanted to add more depth to their already lethal attack by signing Marco Reus next summer but they cannot make any approach to the player until they clear their name from transfer ban.

On the contrary, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has decided to make Marco Reus his marquee signing next summer and his parent club Borussia Dortmund is also more willing to sale their star player to a Spanish club, rather than their domestic rival Bayern Munich.

Marco Reus have contract with Borussia Dortmund which runs until 2016 but his buy-out clause comes down to just 25 million euros in 2015 and being aware of this fact, the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are eager to activate the same.
