FC Barcelona have set their sights on signing Valencia wonder kid Andre Gomes, who is owned by Portuguese club Benfica, in the summer of 2015.
Midfield is considered as the biggest strength of FC Barcelona but the Blaugrana midfielders have failed to perform according to their reputation this season and the club management is interested in signing a top quality player in 2015 in order to resolve this critical issue.
Andre Gomes, 21, signed a one year loan deal with Valencia in August 2014 and he has made an excellent start to his career at the new club as he now is the regular starter for Los Che. The promising displays of Andre Gomes in La Liga have not gone unnoticed with other big clubs and FC Barcelona have been scouting him since past few weeks. It is being reported that FC Barcelona scouts are convinced with the ability of Andre Gomes and they have advised the club authorities to make a move for the player.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and Portugal have also confirmed the interest of FC Barcelona in signing Andre Gomes. Portuguese newspaper A Bola report claims that: “Andre Gomes is one of Valencia’s stars. André Gomes has become the organiser of Los Che’s midfield, although he still belongs to Benfica, having been loaned to Valencia. FC Barcelona are interested in the 21-year-old, who has been tipped to have an even brighter future.”
FC Barcelona signed Ivan Rakitic from Sevilla this summer while they sold Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea but it now appears that this strategy has backfired as Xavi is struggling to have a same impact as he used have two seasons ago while Andres Iniesta is also struggling for a form.
New signing Ivan Rakitic has made a promising start to his career at FC Barcelona but the club authorities are not fully convinced about his abilities yet while they feel that youngster Raphael Alcantara still needs some more time to become a first team material.
Andre Gomes is one of the shining stars of Valencia this season. The Los Che has made an excellent start to their season under new owner Peter Lim and they are keen to sign this promising youngster on a permanent basis next year.
Meanwhile, Benfica, the parent club of Andre Gomes, is aware of this ongoing interest in Andre Gomes and they have accepted the fact that it is going to be extremely difficult to hold on to their prized asset amidst this ongoing interest. FC Barcelona management is keeping a close eye on the development of Andre Gomes and they are certain to make a move for him once the transfer window re-opens.
