FC Barcelona attacker Pedro Rodriguez is unsettled at the club as he has asked for an exit and EPL club Arsenal is ready to make £25m offer for the player in January.
Pedro Rodriguez is finding it difficult to get regular playing time at FC Barcelona nowadays and he has asked the club authorities for an exit from in the winter transfer window. The return of Luis Suarez from four month ban is also expected to reduce his playing time further and Pedro is well aware that it is a right time to take a next step.
FC Barcelona have wealth of attacking talent at their disposal as the likes of Leo Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez are the regular starters for Luis Enrique while youngster Munir El Haddadi is also expected to have negative impact on the playing time of Pedro.
Meanwhile, reports coming from England have also confirmed the interest of Arsenal in the FC Barcelona attacker. The Metro report claims that: “Arsenal have been cleared to sign Spanish winger Pedro after he reportedly asked to leave Barcelona in the January transfer window. The Gunners came close to bagging Pedro in the summer, only for the transfer to collapse at the last-minute, and they ended up signing Alexis Sanchez instead. Arsene Wenger has remained a fan of the player though, and now Arsenal could have an easy run to sign him in the new year with reports in Spainsaying he wants to leave.”
Arsenal are interested in signing new winger as coach Arsene Wenger is not particularly happy with the performance levels of Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski this season and both, particularly Podolski, are linked with a move away from the club.
It is being reported that Podolski is almost guaranteed of leaving the club either in January or in the summer transfer window. And Arsenal could use the money of his sale to lure Pedro away from the club.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is watching Pedro since past few years and he believes that he could be an ideal partner for Alexis Sanchez.
The situation of Pedro at FC Barcelona is also not very encouraging and the club could decide to sale him. But FC Barcelona are unlikely to sale him January as they don’t have any replacement ready. But they could agree to sale him in summer transfer window as promising youngster Gerard Deulofeu is returning from his loan.
