Colombia and AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has reportedly told his close friends that he will leave his current club for Real Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid are looking for a world class striker and it was reported last week that Falcao has already agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants.

Spanish daily AS has confirmed the news of Falcao’s desire to join Real Madrid in their report today. The AS reports that: “The Monaco man was a visitor at the Colombia camp in Cotía (Sao Paulo) in recent days and, while there, revealed his plans for next season to his closest colleagues: to play for Real Madrid. The possibility that he could wear a Real shirt in the coming campaign has caused “childlike excitement” in the 28-year-old, admits another of his international team-mates, who repeated the ex-Atlético Madrid man’s exact words: My future depends on God… and in this case God is Florentino Pérez.”

Real Madrid, current European Champions, have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez throughout this summer but recent reports coming out of Spain has suggested that fierce rivals FC Barcelona have taken the lead for the controversial striker’s signature. The recent controversy involving Suarez has also not gone down well with the Real Madrid management and they are looking for the other alternatives.

Real president Florentino Perez is also a big admirer of Falcao since his Atletico Madrid days and he even tried to sign the player last summer. And now, the striker himself is looking interested in a move to Real Madrid.  AS claims that Falcao’s obsession with Real Madrid is such that he put a clause in his contract last summer which included a get-out option if any offer comes from the Spanish giants.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti feels that a world class strike partner for Karim Benzema is necessary in order to compete in all three major tournaments next season. And with Alvaro Morata almost certain to say good-bye to the club, Ancelotti and president Perez are looking for the top notch striker, and they feel that Falcao has all the necessary qualities to succeed at the demanding atmosphere of Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, signing of Falcao for Real Madrid will close the doors of Santiago Bernebau for Luis Suarez. English press has repeatedly claimed that the Uruguay striker has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid this summer. However, with Karim Benzema almost guaranteed to sign his contract extension and Falcao’s possible transfer, Real Madrid are not expected to go for the Uruguay international. Now, the only realistic option for Luis Suarez (if he really wants to move out) is FC Barcelona.
