Manchester City host Chelsea FC, while Arsenal FC face Liverpool FC in the fifth round of the FA Cup as the draw set up some mouth-watering clashes.
The draw for the fifth round of the FA Cup has set up some high profile clash as two big names are sure to exit this tournament in the next round. The two fixtures which stand out from the rest is Manchester City’s clash against Chelsea and Arsenal’s match against Liverpool.
This draw now means that Manchester City will host Chelsea twice next month, the first of which comes in the first week. Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who are considered as the favourites to lift the Premier League this season, will face a tough and congested schedule in February and how they perform during this period could define their season. City will now face Tottenham and Barcelona, along with two matches against Chelsea next month.
League leaders Arsenal will host Liverpool in another exciting match in this round and the Gunners will now have to task to face Liverpool (twice), Manchester United and Bayern Munich in February – a tough run of games which is only bettered by their schedule in March where they face Bayern Munich, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in space of 25 days.
Everton’s match against Swansea City and Sunderland’s clash against Southampton are the other two “all-Premier League” fixtures in the next round.
