Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has said that he will not stand the in the way of his star striker Diego Costa joining Chelsea in the summer and also that Fernando Torres could return to the club
Diego Costa has attracted interest from various clubs as he has shone for the La Liga club this season and has been instrumental in their successful campaign in both the Spanish League and the Champions League. He has scored an impressive 26 goals in 31 Primera Division matches and has given Atletico a good chance of edging out Barcelona and Real Madrid to land their first league title since the 1995-96 campaign.
Premier League giants Chelsea have been linked with a move for Costa for a while now and the rumored interest seems to be very serious as Jose Mourinho looks to make ammends in the forward line by getting the Brazil born Spain international to Stamford Bridge.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone has said that he will not stand in the way of Costa wanting to move out of the club and would want the player to make decisions for himself. He also said that he would support any decision the striker would make.
“It will depend on him and what he thinks is best for his future,” Simeone said in an interview
“We understand that Chelsea have huge financial power and if he wants to live off football for the rest of his life, I will have no problem in him going.”
“I will support any decision he makes. It’s natural that Chelsea are interested in him and that makes me happy, because my aim and that of my coaching staff is to see our players improve.

Simeone also said that the striker could improve Chelsea’s side, like Samuel Eto’o has, this season:
“Samuel Eto’o has made them better and Diego Costa could do his thing there, but for now he is ours.”
Chelsea’s Fernando Torres has also been rumored with a with a move back to his old club as he himself has spoken about wanting to work with Simeone again. He had said:
“Simeone is like Guardiola or like other coaches, who you’d like to go and see how they coach and learn.”
It was now the turn of Diego Simeone to say something in this regard and he did as he hinted that Torres could come back to the club
“Fernando is always with us, obviously I have sent messages to him,” Simeone said.
“He is very happy with everything that is happening to this team and he is always present, wishing us luck.
“Of course he would love to come back to the club he grew up in and where he was happy.”
