Chelsea Manager is looking for yet another reunion with his former disciple at Real Madrid.
Jose Mourinho is looking to rope in Napoli striker Jose Callejon this transfer season. Callejon, who had played under Mourinho’s guidance at Real Madrid is allegedly all set to move to Chelsea. It is believed that Chelsea has rolled down a 26 million Euro bid for the Spaniard.
Chelsea seems to be on a rampant mode this transfer season, and the west Londoners are trying to seize every possible big fish they can lay their hands on. Till now the club is reportedly linked with players like Eden Dzeko, Sami Khedira, Jose Callejon, Diego costa.
Callejon who moved out from Real Madrid to Napoli last season, has been in prime form. He neted 16 goals in 47 matches this season. He also helped them in winning the Coppa Italia title. His extreme pace and quick approach towards the ball has helped Napoli’s attacking game in a big way.
Jose Mourinho has always been a great admirer of Callejon’s game and has rated him very highly. The Chelsea boss is looking to strengthen its attacking side and thus he is ready to go an extra yard to move Callejon to Chelsea.
Mourinho is trying to string together former Real Madrid players to play for Chelsea. The Portuguese is also trying to get Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira on board this season.
On the tactical side, Chelsea is in a desperate need for a striker. Fernando Torres’s form has been very inconsistent throughout the season and Samuel Eto’o seems to have gone past his peak-period and with his contract ending this season, He will probably move away from Chelsea. The West Londoners had to depend on their third striker Demba Ba to bail them out most of the time this season. Although Mourinho has cleared out very categorically by saying that Fernando Torres is going to remain an integral part of Chelsea’s campaign next season, It is clear that he is also looking for other options as well.
Napoli as well, seems to be ready to seal the deal. The 26 million Euro deal will earn the Italian team a great amount of profit. Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is in talks with Real Madrid for Angel di Maria, and the Callejon deal will definitely boost up his biding capacity to buy the Argentine.
Chelsea are so firm on getting Callejon to their side that they have even agreed to double the Spaniard’s match fee.
