Chelsea FC manager is keen to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid and are willing to offer Oscar in exchange, insists FIFA agent Francis Gallardo.

Luka Modric arrived at Real Madrid under the reign of Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea manager remains a big fan of the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder. The Croatian international has been in scintillating form this season and has become an important member of the squad under Carlo Ancelotti. In fact he has arguably been Real Madrid’s best player this season – many argue that he has been even more important than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Modric, who has expressed his desire to end his career at Santiago Bernabéu, has reportedly drawn interest from Chelsea with Mourinho wanting to strengthen his midfield in the summer. With Frank Lampard approaching the fag end of his career at Stamford Bridge and Mikel failing to deliver consistently, Chelsea are expected to add more reinforcement to the center of the park in the summer. They have already brought Nemanja Matic in the winter transfer window; Modric’s addition will certainly turn them into a formidable unit. But the London club will find it hard to prize away the 28-year-old from Real Madrid, where he has become a fan favourite.

According to FIFA agent Francis Gallardo, Mourinho is willing to offer Oscar in exchange for Modric in the summer as he looks to reunite with the midfielder at Stamford Bridge. Oscar, who produced some good performances this season and was preferred over Juan Mata by the Portuguese manager, has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in the summer. PSG and Real Madrid have both been linked with the Brazilian play-maker and according to Gallardo, Chelsea are willing to offer him to the Spanish giants.

“This could be a possibility,

“Mourinho is a fan of the strong Real Madrid star. He knows Modric will be expensive and would be happy to exchange a pretty good player of Chelsea.

The player Mourinho wants at Chelsea is Modric and he is willing to include Oscar plus cash in the transaction.” – Francis Gallardo told Spanish TV station La Sexta.

Even if Oscar is involved in the deal, Chelsea will find it hard to convince Real Madrid to sell Modric in the summer with Carlo Ancelotti making him an integral part of the squad.
