Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho is confident about the arrival of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa in this transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the end of the season and Jose Mourinho is confident about sealing the deal in this transfer window.

Diego Costa enjoyed the best season of the career so far as he stepped up to fill up the shoes of Radamel Falcao for Atletico Madrid. The striker scored 36 goals in all competitions as Diego Simeone’s side broke through the duopoly in the Spanish league and lifted the La Liga title. Los Indios also made their way to the Champions League final, where they eventually lost to rivals Real Madrid. But this success was never going to be enough to retain Diego Costa in the squad next season, as a host of European clubs lined up for his signature.

Chelsea were always the favourites in the race to sign Diego Costa and recent reports suggested that the London club have agreed upon a transfer fee of £30million with the Spanish international completing his medical ahead of the move. The Spanish striker has already publicly accepted the possibility of this move, and now Jose Mourinho has expressed his confidence about sealing the deal.

“Costa is a player who I want to have in my team.

“I’ve asked my club for him and I have total confidence that we’re going to achieve it and he will end up signing for Chelsea.” – Mourinho said in an interview.

Chelsea have been busy in this transfer window after enduring a trophy less season last time around. They have already secured the sign of former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, while David Luiz has been sold to PSG. Rumours also suggest that Brazilian midfielder Ramires could also be on his way out of Stamford Bridge with Real Madrid being interested in signing him. But Mourinho has dismissed these rumours and stated that Ramires will remain at the club.

“Ramires is staying at Chelsea, he’s not for sale.

“I have a great relationship with important people at Real Madrid and they know that Ramires is going to stay at Chelsea.” – Mourinho added.

Rumour mills have also suggest Chelsea’s interest in Real Madrid defender Rafael Varane and German international Sami Khedira, but the Portuguese manager has ruled out the possibility of him making a move for any player of the Spanish club.

“They (Real Madrid) know that Ramires isn’t going, but they also know that I’m not interested in any Real Madrid player. (Raphael) Varane and (Sami) Khedira? I repeat that I’m not interested in any Madrid player, full stop.” – He insisted.
