Chelsea FC’s manager Jose Mourinho claims, that his side have the right balance, now, after experimenting in the season before. The Chelsea FC gaffer, masterminded the Blues 2-0 victory over West Ham. A stellar first half display, fused with the stability of second half, led Chelsea FC to grab all three points. John Terry opened the scoring for Chelsea FC, as a flicked on header by Diego Costa, following a corner, was easily converted by the Chelsea FC captain, who now has scored 60 career goals. Deigo Costa, scored is complimentary goal, when he popped up in the second half and slotted the ball comfortably around West Ham’s goalkeeper, who had a busy day. Defensive stability mixed with attacking fluidity, has been Chelsea FC’s core weapon and Jose Mourinho believes that this is the right balance, which his team was hoping to find, at the beginning of the Premier League season.
“Last year we were very strong defensively, very well organised, but a bit lacking in creativity when we had the ball.’ said Mourinho
“The challenge this season was to bring that creativity, that dynamism, without losing the good defensive qualities of the team.
“At the beginning of the season there was a little bit of conflict between these two ideas. It was difficult to have a clean sheet. “In this moment we have a good balance.”
“We are a much better team when we have the ball,”
John Terry, who has been a loyal Mourinho servant since the ‘special one” first stint with Chelsea FC, dished out his usual top draw performance. Terry, whose contract has been extended by only a year, which runs out in the summer, has impressed with his performances so far.
“He’s full of confidence. I see my John of 2004, 05, 06. I see him. I don’t see any difference.’ praised Mourinho
“I only see a difference when I see his twin [daughters] when they go to the training ground because they were born in that period and now they are running and kicking balls.
“In him there is no difference. He’s playing so good.”
Mourinho also hailed Terry’s goal scoring abilities, which see the Chelsea FC captain, register 60 career goals, three more than Barcelona’s sensational player, Andres Iniesta.
“He always had that [goal-scoring ability],” added Mourinho
With a win against West Ham, Chelsea FC have maintained their three point lead at the top of the Premier League. The Blues take on Southampton on Saturday and will hope that their shining form continues, as they try to elude Manchester City, in the Sky Blues quest for the Premier League trophy.
