Aston Villa

Aston Villa come into the game having lost just one game in their last 6 appearances. However Paul Lambert hasn’t been able to hit the winning note and has won only 2 of these games, drawing three fixtures on the trot.

Aston Villa will be looking for a strong performance on Saturday if they are to go past Van Gaal’s men. However Lambert will be without the services of several players such as Kieran Richardson (suspended), Tom Cleverley (Ineligible), Alan Hutton(suspended), Joe Cole (Injured), Nathan Baker (Injured), Ashley Westwoon (Injured), Philip Senderos (Injured) and Libor Kozak (Injured).

Benteke will be expected to lead the team’s attack and he will be looking to exploit Manchester United’s fragile defence. The Belgian striker will look to keep De Gea busy who has been on splendid form this season. Ron Vlaar is expected to return to the starting line-up and will be burdened with the responsibility to keep national team-mate Robin Van Persie out of the game.

Just 5 points clear of the relegation zone, Aston Villa be keen to not give away any points as Paul Lambert prepares himself for a hectic Christmas schedule. Meanwhile the Villa manager does believe that Manchester United will play an important role in the title run this year and that they might just be able to snatch the title from Manchester City and Chelsea.
