Yohan Cabaye is apparently not happy at French club Paris Saint Germain and is looking for a move back to England.

The former Newcastle United man, who moved to Ligue 1 last January for £19million, is unhappy with the way he has been used this season in a bit-part role as he hasn’t been in the fore of Blanc’s plans.

After playing just 15 minutes against rivals Monaco, Cabaye went on record to say that he is unsatisfied at the moment and can look for opportunities away from the club as his lack of game time with the Parisian club can affect his France national team ambitions.

‘You have to accept being a substitute, but I don’t resign myself to that. In training sessions, I have to give my best and show my desire to play. When I am on the pitch, I feel it is not perfect and that I often have to leave too soon. But I know the coach and staff have to make choices and I respect that,’ he told  L’Equipe

‘Have I spoken to Laurent Blanc? No. What do I tell him? I am 28 years old and not new to the job. But I am not satisfied with the situation. Am I completely happy? To be honest, no. It is a new situation for me, but I don’t complain. It is the first time I haven’t played regularly for my club. With the French team, if one day the national team coach decides to play me less because I don’t play often enough for my club, then I would need to take stock with my representatives.’

Arsenal were thought to be heavily interested in Cabaye before he left for PSG. The Gunners would definitely be alerted by the Frenchman’s situation. Cabaye has played 10 games in the league this season, in which he has been used as a substitute four times. He has not completed 90 minutes on the pitch even once in this campaign.

French football insider Matt Spiro claimed this morning through Twitter that the former Newcastle United player wants to return to the Premier League this January, despite only moving from England to France less than a year ago.

Liverpool have also been mentioned as interested in Cabaye’s services, and there’s no doubt that his quality could improve the Reds side as well.

THT Verdict- Likely

The player’s move to PSG has not been as what he would have pictured. Cabaye made the switch to attend to his ambition of playing at the highest level. But at Newcastle, the player was the key member of the side and going from an integral player, to someone who is dispensable usually hits a player hard and such is the case with Cabaye. His move from PSG seems likely. However, the destination can yet not be said.
