PSG have failed in their attempts to extend the contract of Arsenal and AS Roma target Adrien Rabiot and the player will be sold in the January transfer window.
Adrien Rabiot is considered as one of the most talented young midfielder of the world football and he is being chased by the likes of AS Roma, Arsenal and Manchester United. Reportedly, the player earns around 1,50,000 thousand euros a year at PSG and his representatives has asked for more than 4 million euros a year which was turned down by the management of PSG.
Meanwhile, reports coming from England have also confirmed that Rabiot will be sold by the PSG during this transfer window. The Daily Mirror report claims that: “Arsenal target Adrien Rabiot has been given a transfer ultimatum by Paris Saint-Germain. PSG want to discuss a new deal with the 19-year-old midfielder, but if he does not sign by December then they will sell him in the January window. Rabiot, a target for Roma as well as the Gunners, is uncertain on his future because of a lack of first team chances at the big-spending French champions.”
PSG currently have the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Tiago Motta and Marco Verratti as the regular starters in their midfield and youngster Rabiot is finding it difficult to get a regular play time. The other big clubs of Europe, like Arsenal and Roma are keeping close eye on the current situation of the player and both are ready to make lucrative offer to him.
The representatives of Rabiot are aware of this ongoing interest and keeping this in mind, they have asked for huge hike in his annual salary. The PSG management is in no mood to give such huge hike but they are still hopeful of finding a solution.
PSG coach Laurent Blanc said recently that: “It is a contract situation in the club which will be discussed soon but PSG have decided on a stance. In the next few days we will discuss that with the player.”
Italian side Roma have made no secret of their interest in Rabiot and currently they are the frontrunners for the signature of talented youngster. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also a big admirer of Rabiot’s talent and he has asked the club management to go for the signature of young Frenchman.
