Arsenal have joined Real Madrid in a race to sign Cruzeiro wonder kid Lucas Silva and the club has even sent the scouts to Brazil to watch the youngster.
Real Madrid want to sign Lucas Silva as a replacement of injured Luka Modric but it now appears that the Los Blancos will have to beat Arsenal in a bidding war to sign the gifted youngster as the Gunners are lining up a 15 million euro bid for the player in winter transfer window.
Lucas Silva, 21, has become a hottest property in the European transfer market because of his excellent displays for Cruzeiro and Real Madrid is the first club to register its interest in the signature of the player. But the promising displays of Lucas Silva has not gone unnoticed in England as the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in signing the player.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperately looking for a top quality midfielder in the market and has made Lucas Silva his primary transfer target. Arsenal authorities believe that an offer worth 15 million euros would be enough to beat the competition of Real Madrid to get Lucas Silva.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and England have also confirmed the plans of Arsenal to splash 15 millions on Lucas Silva. English newspaper The Sun has claimed in its report that: “Real Madrid are not the only club keen on signing Lucas Silva. Manchester United and Arsenal are the Premier League sides keeping an eye on the Cruzeiro midfielder. However, Arsene Wenger has gone one step further and sent scouts out to Brazil to make first contact with the player.”
Real Madrid have lost Luka Modric due to long term injury last month and coach Carlo Ancelotti has asked the club authorities to sign the replacement for the Serbian and Lucas Silva is currently the favorite to join Los Blancos in January.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also genuinely interested in signing Lucas Silva. The title prospects of Arsenal are hampered by continuous injuries to their key players in past few seasons and Arsene Wenger wants to avoid this scenario this time around as he has set his eyes on signing Lucas Silva.
However, the task ahead of Arsenal is not that easy as Real Madrid are currently the favorites to sign Lucas Silva. The young midfielder has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid but Arsenal management believes that a lucrative offer would help them beat the competition of Spanish giants.
