Scotland Yard have released pictures of three suspects who threw coins at Arsenal FC winger Theo Walcott in the last North London Derby.

Arsenal have already faced each other twice this season and the Gunners have been victorious in both these meetings. The last of those wins came in the FA Cup fixture last month as the Gunners knocked out their North London rivals with a memorable performance. Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky scored on the night to take Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over Spurs, but it was an incident off the field which grabbed most of the headlines.

Sadly for the Gunners Theo Walcott, who was eventually ruled out for the rest of the season, injured himself in that game and as the England international was stretchered off the pitch the Tottenham fans rained down coins and missiles on him and the stewards; Walcott retaliated with a “2-0” gesture towards the Spurs supporters.

The police have been investigating that incident, along with anti-Semitic tweets following the match on twitter, and are close to identifying the miscreant on that night. The Scotland Yard have released pictures of three men who are being suspected to have been involved in the coin-throwing incident and they have also released a statement confirming the same.

“During the match, an Arsenal player on a stretcher, medical staff carrying him and stewards were struck by coins and other missiles thrown at them from a section of the crowd occupied by Tottenham fans.

“The player and stewards received minor injuries as a result. Officers from the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation and have now identified three men they would like to contact.” – Read an official statement released by the officials.
