Thomas Eisfeld has completed his move from Arsenal FC to Fulham for an undisclosed fee, while the Gunners sign a 15-year-old German midfielder from Barcelona.
Thomas Eisfeld has signed a two-year deal with Fulham after completing his move from Arsenal. The Gunners meanwhile have signed a 15-year-old German wonderkid from Barcelona for their U18 side.
Eisfeld was signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2012, but failed to establish himself in the first team over the past two seasons. The 21-year-old midfielder has made only two competitive first team appearance in the past two seasons and decided it was time to move on to a new club in order to gain regular first team action.
Fulham have officially announced the signing of the young German on a two year contract, for an undisclosed fee.
“Fulham Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Thomas Eisfeld from Arsenal.
“The attacking midfielder has signed a two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months that will see the player remain at the Club until at least the summer of 2016.” – Read an official statement released by Fulham.
Eisfeld was delighted at the prospect of playing for Fulham under their manager Felix Magath. He has assured the fans that he will do his best for the club.
“This is a new chapter for me. I didn’t play a lot of senior football at Arsenal, but now is my time. This is the right move for me, and I’m looking forward to developing my game at Fulham.
“Felix Magath is a fantastic manager and there are some really good players in the squad. I just can’t wait to pull on the shirt for the first time. What I can promise the fans is that I will always give my best for the Club.
“I want to establish myself, and we have already seen a number of young players do that here. If you’re looking at the Club from the outside as a player looking to push on, then that’s great to see. I need to make sure I take my opportunity.” – Eisfeld said.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have signed another young midfielder from Barcelona. 15-year-old German midfielder Georgios Spanoudakis has joined the Gunners and will represent their U18 side. Spanoudakis, a player of Greek origin, was highly rated during his time at La Masia and he became the seventh player to switch from Barcelona to Arsenal.
