Sami Khedira has only six months left to his contract with Real Madrid and Arsenal are confident of getting their man for 6 million pounds.

Sami Khedira, 27, is in the final year of his contract at Real Madrid and he has been linked with a host of European clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. The management of Real Madrid has not made any attempt to open the contract extension talks with Sami Khedira yet and he is free to talk to other clubs from January onwards.

Arsenal are aware of this current situation of Sami Khedira at Real Madrid and they are hopeful that an offer worth 6 million pounds would be enough to land the player in January transfer window.

Meanwhile, Sami Khedira has himself said yesterday that he is “curious” to see where he will be playing football next season. These comments of the German have put Arsene Wenger and Arsenal on alert as the club is certain to make an offer to Real Madrid once the transfer window re-opens on 1st January.

Reports coming from Spain and England have also confirmed the desire of Arsenal to get Sami Khedira in a cut-price deal next month. Various newspapers including Metro, have claimed today that Sami Khedira could move to Arsenal from Real Madrid in January.

Speaking about his future yesterday, Sami Khedira had said that: “It is a known fact that my contract expires. We [me and Real Madrid] are always in good contact,” he told reporters in Stuttgart.

“I feel very comfortable at Real Madrid. I am not averse to staying. There are no talks with other clubs. I am curious myself to see where I will end up. It was a year full of events for me. I did not know whether I would be fit for the Champions League final and the World Cup again.”

There is too much competition for places at Real Madrid as the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, James Rodrigues, Isco and Asier Illaramendi are available for selection to coach Carlo Anceolotti and Sami Khedira, who has just returned from injury, is finding it hard to get the regular playing time. Sami Khedira is not very happy with this situation at Real Madrid and he believes that a move to another club could help to revive his stagnated career.

Arsenal are interested in signing world class box-to-box midfielder in January and coach Arsene Wenger believes that Sami Khedira is the perfect candidate for this role.

It’s suggested that Real Madrid management will also have no problem in letting the player join Arsenal if they receive 6 million pounds in January as he would be a free agent at the end of this campaign.
