AC Milan striker, M’Baye Niang admits that he had a talk with Arsene Wenger about joining Arsenal, before went to join Allegri’s AC Milan. The French forward Niang joined AC Milan from Caen in 2012 for just £2.5million — despite being certain he was heading to the Emirates. The young Frenchman has long been considered one of the most exciting prospects coming out of France, though his career has stalled somewhat at the San Siro due to a lack of opportunities.

“I spoke with Arsene Wenger in his office. We spoke for hours,” the 19-year-old explained.

“He wanted me, asked if I was ready to come and I said ‘Yes’. Then after that, it’s between the two clubs.

“They didn’t come to an understanding and told me that Adriano Galliani had reached an understanding with Caen.

“Then I spoke with manager Massimiliano Allegri and when I felt he wanted me, things happened very quickly.

“I don’t regret going, because I’ve played in some big games and it’s helped me to gain experience, even though my priority was England.

“In the beginning, I didn’t want to go to Italy. I was aiming for Arsenal. But when we got to the end of the transfer window, something happened.”

But since then Niang has lacked luster in his performances for AC Milan. The 19 year old is known for his bursting pace and dribbles. He also has been in the thick of transfer speculation between Chelsea and Arsenal. But, Niang rubbished all rumors and expressed his love to play for French Giants Paris Saint Germain.

“When I was young, I was rooting for PSG, even still today I watch their matches,” Niang said.

“One day, I hope to play over there. Like all young players we always hope of playing for PSG.”

Niang has only made two appearances for Milan this season, both as a substitute and should a transfer go ahead the Rossoneri will be hoping to make a healthy profit on the reported €3 million they originally paid to SM Caen.

The 19 year old Frenchman joined the Rossoneri in 2012 but he has struggled for playing time, even spending the second half of last season on loan at Montpellier.

But Arsenal who have been previously linked with Niang, could go guns blazing for him. Arsene Wenger has already expressed his desire to sign Niang, and could sign him as early as January according to The Daily Express. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain could drop out of the race to sign Niang, as their star studded squads already have quality more than Niang.
