Bayern Munich are interested in signing Real Madrid‘s Sami Khedira.
German international Sami Khedira has been rumored with a move away from Spanish giants Real Madrid all summer. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been keen on adding steel to his midfield and has been targeting Khedira to do that. Chelsea too, have been interested in the 27 year old as Jose Mourinho wants a reunion with the player, someone he believes could make the Blues the most lethal Premier League side this season.
According to Express, the Germany international has told his agent to help him seal a return to the Bundesliga with Bayern. Pep Guardiola, who initially ruled out any transfers, has stated his desire to make some signings before the transfer window ends following Javi Martinez’s season-ending knee injury. Bastian Schweinsteiger is also injured and faces at least two weeks on the sidelines. Defender Rafinha and midfielder Thiago Alcantara are also long-term injury victims.
ESPN also claim that the player is eyed by the Bavarian giants and Khedira is keen on a move himself. They write: Sami Khedira is eager to join Bayern Munich as Real Madrid attempt to offload the Germany midfielder this summer, sources have told ESPN FC. Sources state Khedira has now instructed his representatives to investigate the possibility of a move to Bayern, with the Bundesliga champions pondering a potential move.
Khedira refused to sign a new contract and ‘is being frozen out at the Bernabeu’. The arrival of Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and the presence of Luka Modric as well as Xabi Alonso has obviously put Khedira’s game-time in jeopardy and the German international wants to move to a place where he will get regular game-time. Real too, are willing to let him go this season as his sale, and Angel di Maria’s, could be enough to fund the capture of AS Monaco’s Radamel Falcao (the Colombian has stated his desire to move to Real). The 27 year old is expected to be left out of Real’s squad for their Spanish Super Cup clash with Atletico Madrid tonight.
Bayern are believed to be offering £12million for the midfielder who recently won the World Cup with his country. His future is still under heavy speculation as Arsenal are still heavily linked with him and are ‘closing in on him’ according to various media outlets. It was brought to the fore earlier today that Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is set to discuss a £27million move to Bayern Munich as the 28-year-old Uruguayan has interested Pep Guardiola
