According to sources, Liverpool have tabled an £ 8.5 million bid for Brazilian starlet Philippe Coutinho. Inter have been reluctant to sell at that price but the Merseyside club are said to have come up with an improved offer which would include more cash up-front. This is Liverpool’s third and final bid for the player. Southampton are also interested in Coutinho and have reportedly tabled a bid of £ 10.2 million.
Coutinho though, is keen on a move to Anfield and has admitted to fellow Brazilian Lucas of his desire to move to Liverpool. With the transfer deadline fast approaching, The Reds will be looking to tie up this deal as quickly as possible. However, with Inter negotiating hard and Southampton also in the frame, this deal could stretch till deadline day.
AC Milan, on the other hand, are looking to make some additions to their squad and they have reportedly made an offer to Manchester City to sign controversial forward Mario Balotelli on loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. It is understood that the price to make Balotelli’s move to Milan permanent is £21.2 million. Roberto Mancini is said to have rejected the offer for the Italian forward as he seeks to utilise the depth in his squad as they stake a claim to defend their Premier League crown. This transfer is not likely to go through by the end of this window but Balotelli may move back to Italy before the start of next season.
