AC Milan, Juventus and Fiorentina are believed to be in pursuit of Southampton winger Gaston Ramirez, reports in Italy and England suggest.
Ramirez was part of a transfer coup in summer that saw Saints net the highly rated Uruguayan for £ 12million, the club’s record signing of all time. Ramirez has played 18 times for Southampton till now but has struggled with recurring injuries which has seen him miss out for lengthy periods.
Southampton coach Pochettino was not concerned about the speculation and had this to say
“Fiorentina and AC Milan interested in Ramirez? It’s normal because Gaston is a young and strong player who is proving at Southampton he can rise to the occasion”
Juventus is also believed to have joined the race to sign Gaston Ramirez recently. The Old Lady was linked to Ramirez before he moved to Southampton and may move for him again, should he be available for a transfer.
The 22 year old Uruguayan had a successful career in Serie A before moving to Premier League as he scored 12 goals in 58 matches for Bologna. No price has been set for his signature yet but it is being rumoured that his transfer fee may be above £ 15million.
