Manchester City Midfielder David Silva Injured In Training

Manchester City’s injury woes continue as David Silva has returned to the club after picking up an injury while training with his national team.

City are already without their captain Vincent Kompany and the man who was signed to provide back-up for him, Demichelis. Both the defenders are expected to be out for four and six weeks respectively. City currently doesn’t have any proper back-up for Lescott and Nastasic, although Micah Richards is expected to return to the bench next weekend. But David Silva looks like to miss out City’s next match against Stoke City after picking up what has been diagnosed as muscle injury, while he was away with the Spanish national team. Silva didn’t make an appearance for Spain in their 2-0 victory over Finland last Friday, but picked up this knock in training. The Spaniard has returned to club due to precautionary measures and will miss out on Spain’s friendly against Chile tomorrow.

“After the issues reported by the player David Jimenez Silva after this afternoon’s training session, a scan took place and a light muscle injury was detected.

“For precaution, and to avoid complications with this injury, Silva left the training camp.

“National coach Vicente del Bosque has decided not to call up anyone else to cover the absence.” – read a statement released by the Spanish football federation.

Pellegrini is unlikely to risk Silva in the next game now and it seems his absence could pave the way for the Premier League debut of summer signing Stevan Jovetic.

Roma And Fans Wanted Him To Leave – Reveals Pablo Osvaldo

Pablo Osvaldo, who became Southampton’s big money signing this summer among a host of other new arrivals at the club, has revealed how Roma and the fans made him feel unwanted during his stint in Italy.

Osvaldo joined Southampton on four year deal for a transfer fee which could rise upto €17 million. The 27-year-old ended his two year stint at the club he joined from Espanyol back in 2011. But his stay at the Italian capital hasn’t been a memorable one and Osvaldo has expressed his relief at joining Southampton and leaving Roma. The Italian international has now revealed how the fans left ‘nasty messages’ outside his house and how the club made him feel unwanted.

“I wanted to have an experience abroad and Southampton wanted me from the beginning so I think it has been the right choice for me.

“In England I’m happy, I’m fine with my new team-mates and the new club. I still have to adapt, and to score goals, but I’m more than happy with my choice.

“It was my decision, although Roma made me understand that I had to go away.

“The normal fans always showed affection for me. There is an element of the fans who love football the wrong way and I could not stay in Rome with people writing nasty messages outside my house.

“I needed peace and quiet, and for this reason I chose England. I don’t regret anything.” – Osvaldo said.

The former Fiorentina striker has already made two appearances for the club having made his debut in the 1-1 draw against Sunderland. Southampton have made some big investments in the squad this season as they look to push up the table and Osvaldo can become an important figure in that squad.
