Manchester United are close to completing double signing of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.
After failing with numerous attempts to sign a midfielder this summer, Manchester United might have finally hit the jack pot with expected signings of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera. Fellaini has been linked the reigning Premier League champions all throughout the transfer window, along with his teammate Leighton Baines. While Everton are unwilling to part ways with the left-back, it seems they have finally reached an agreement with United over the sale of the Belgium international, which was also influenced by the fact that Fellaini wanted this move to materialize.

Reports suggest that Fellaini is on his way to Old Trafford for his medical as he has been given a leave by the Belgium national team to complete his move and join up with the squad after that. Meanwhile Manchester United are also close to completing their move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera. The 24-year-old has earned rave reviews after joining the Spanish club in 2011. United’s initial bid of £25million for the Spaniard was rejected by the club as Bilbao were unwilling to step down from their demands of £30million, which would trigger the release clause in his contract. The English club have finally submitted an improved offer and a deal has been reached. Ander Herrera is due for a medical at Manchester later today and his arrival, along with Fellaini will significantly strengthen United’s midfield, which has been their Achilles’’ heel for the past few seasons.

Manchester United have also made a £15m for Everton left-back Leighton Baines, but the Merseyside club were quick to reject the offer as they are unwilling to part ways with the England left back this season. It will be interesting to see if United make another increased bid for him before the window closes.
