Malaga star has revealed his admiration for Real Madrid, as rumours suggest that Manchester City have lost out in race for his signature.
Presently Isco is one of the hottest properties in Europe. The Malaga wonder-kid recently won the European Championship with the Spanish U-21 national team and he dazzled throughout the tournament. The 21-year-old has made a name for himself last season after putting in some inspiring display for the Spanish side. Isco scored 12 goals for Malaga last season – his personal best – and was one of the prime reasons behind the club finishing sixth in the league and progressing to the quarter-final stage in the Champions League.
Following his exploits, he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and Real Madrid, while Dortmund and PSG are also said to be monitoring his situation closely. Initially though it seemed as if City are the front runners in this race for his signature as former Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini (whom Isco has introduced as his ‘footballing father’) is set to take over at the English club. Pellegrini’s presence meant City had an upper hand in this deal. But recent reports have suggested that Isco has rejected City’s offer and is keen on joining Real Madrid.
To add fuel to the above speculation about Real Madrid, the Spanish international has accepted that prospect of joining Madrid club ‘excites’ him and has rated them as one of the ‘best teams in the world’.
“Madrid excites me.
“They are one of the best teams in the world.” – Isco was quoted in press.
Spanish media are suggesting that the transfer fee involved in this deal is around €30 million and interestingly Sky Bet has suspended betting on Isco’s next club after a flurry of bet on the odds as low as 1/8 of him joining Real Madrid. It seems like Real Madrid have got their man, what waits to be seen is how and where Carlo Ancelotti plans to use this talented attacker.
